What is Compost?

Compost is organic matter that has gone through a decomposition and pathogen removal process to become a nutrient rich soil amendment that you can use to substitute fertilizers and improve topsoil health. Compost must have both Carbon and Nitrogen content from different sources, otherwise it’s ineffective.

What’s it made from?

Our compost made from two feedstocks, local biosolids and wood debris. We use our proprietary and EPA-recognized ISAP method to decompose the feedstocks and reduce pathogens to manufacture a clean, earthy product to use as high quality topsoil. 

What can I use it on?

You can use compost on any plant that you need to grow, from farms and home gardens, to turfgrasses and construction greens. For more information on residential or commercial use of compost for your project, contact us!

How much should I use?

Compost is a unique product in that it’s nearly impossible to overuse! Your soil will improve by using more compost. For turfgrass, pasture, and seeding, we recommend a minimum of 13 Tons (about 1 truck load) per acre needing coverage. For raised bed gardens, we recommend calculating your garden dimensions and then we can help you translate that into delivery quantities and prices.

Is it safe?

Compost is safe. We are certified under the US Composting Council’s Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) program, which requires us to pass strict lab tests on all material that gets sent out the door. We are happy to supply a copy of our labs and our Safety Data Sheet (SDS) upon request.

How can I get it?

You can either come pick it up in your vehicle (we load truck beds, trailers, commercial trucks, etc.), or we can deliver it to you. For delivery timing and pricing, contact us!
